Episode 053: Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife: let’s talk about sex! Why the struggle is so real in marriages and what to do about it

Today’s episode is very different from our normal lineup. We’re talking about intimacy in marriage and so if you have littles in the room, now would be a good time to push pause and either find some headphones or wait until later to listen. We go in-depth on this topic as Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife answers all of my burning questions (and yours from a question box on Instagram stories) about sex and marriage and how you can improve your marital intimacy. This episode is intended for married couples and is definitely not intended for a young audience or single people trying to abstain from sex. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife is a relationship and sexuality educator and coach, as well as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois with a Ph.D in Counseling Psychology from Boston College.

She wrote her dissertation on LDS women and sexuality, has taught college-level courses on human sexuality, and currently teaches online relationship and sexuality courses and live workshops to LDS individuals and couples.

The opinions in this episode are those of Dr. Finlayson-Fife and do not necessarily represent the opinions of the church of Jesus Christ although she and I are both members. I hope you’ll take from this episode what’s helpful to you and feels right, and leave, if anything, whatever does not. I’m so grateful for Dr. Finlayson-Fife taking the time to record this episode with me and especially on the week of Valentines Day, I hope it helps bring many married couples closer together.
