The BEST at-home hair masks using only 2 products

The winter can be ROUGH on hair and now that we're getting into the warmer months, it's time to start thinking about how to bring LIFE back into your hair. And what better time than while you're home 24-7? So I recently started looking for the best at-home hair mask I could do. I was honestly okay spending a little more money on a splurge to keep my hair healthy between appointments, I really just wanted to find something that WORKED!

At one of my hair appointment I asked my hair girl what hair mask treatments I could be doing at home that would make my hair feel amazing. I TOTALLY trust her opinion 100% and knew she would point me in the right direction! What I wasn't expecting her to suggest were two CHEAP items I could order online or pick up during my next grocery run! Since trying these two products I've been totally impressed by how they make my hair look and feel so you know I had to share them with you too!

coconut oil hair mask

One of the BEST at-home hair mask products for dry hair:

COCONUT OIL: Okay so you can obviously buy coconut oil anywhere, but I really love the Trader Joe's ones. They sell coconut oil in these little packets. GAME. CHANGER. Like who wants a full oily jar of melted coconut oil in their bathroom?! Not me! With these magic little packets you can bring just one into the bathroom and melt it with the heat from your shower. Once it's liquid you'll comb it through your hair from about your ears down. If it's solid it spreads super unevenly and gets all clumpy!

Once it's all evenly distributed, I like to do two braids and sleep in it so my hair has all night to soak up all that coconut goodness!! You could also just leave it in for 10-15 minutes while you exfoliate or shave if you're just looking to do a quick treatment. Once you are all done you just rinse it out and then shampoo and condition like normal. Easy as can be!

This little trick has made my hair SUPER super soft. It's so well moisturized and just seems shinier and healthier! I've mentioned before how much I love using coconut oil on my body after using the PMD (it totally helped clear up my Keratosis Pilaris!) and I shouldn't be surprised that it's great for my hair too! Coconut oil just solves ALL the problems!

Coconut Oil
Apple Cider Vinegar
Spray Bottle

The perfect product to moisturize your scalp

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Since you're already wanting to totally treat your hair, I have one more must-grab item! If your scalp has been feeling dry at all after the winter you need to get some apple cider vinegar. This is so simple and it WORKS! All you do is put it in a spray bottle, mix it with some water, and spray it onto your scalp. I always just start with where I part my hair, spray, then part it an inch or so over. Then I spray again, and do that until my whole scalp is treated!

This hair mask is NOT an overnight one. I definitely don't want my bed smelling like apple cider vinegar! So I just do this one right before getting in the shower. I'll usually leave it in for 5-10 minutes while I shave my legs, wash my face, etc. and then rinse!

So fresh so clean

You guys I totally swear by both of these at-home hair masks! My hair colorist has told me that neither will damage my color and will only HELP! The apple cider vinegar makes my scalp feel so moisturized and clean, then the coconut oil helps my dry ends. These combined are a cheap and effective way to treat your hair at home and I'm in LOVE with my results!!

Let me know if you try it and what you think!!
