Realistic what I wore this week – as a mom of 5!

Quick version: FIVE super affordable + on trend mom outfits I wore this week!

Putting together an outfit and getting dressed for the day is something I really love as a fashion blogger. But I'm a huge believer that it should also be comfortable, and practical for day to day life (because hi, mom life!). And realistically it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to feel put together and GOOD about the clothes you're wearing!

Something I'm a huge advocate for is showing up as the best version of myself each day, and believe it or not, getting dressed is truly a part of that! Yep, even on those comfy WFH days – I just automatically feel more motivated (and magically more productive?!) to take on the day…from my biker shorts and half zip. Hey, I said these were realistic mom outfits right?! If you're looking for some easy outfit ideas that don't require an occasion or cost a fraction of your retirement fund, these are five options I'm loving right now for day to day life.

OOTD 1: Matching set for a beach walk

So mama, if you’re into matching sets as much as I am you are going to LOVE this matching jacket and legging set!!

OOTD 2: Comfy work from home

The half zip is really shining in 2023 and I am HERE FOR IT. This one is maybe the best I’ve tried this year FOR summer because it’s a) suuuuper soft but more importantly b) super LIGHT! You know when you need just a simple easy throw on and go hoodie or jacket for when it cools down at night or early in the am? Or if you get cold in a house with the AC cranked (not me haha but I know some of you do!!) then this is your new BFF. It also cinches at the bottom, and the SLEEVES ARE LONG ENOUGH! Praise!!! AND since it’s only $15.98 you can grab it in more than one color if you want!!

These bikers can go right into the hall of bermuda fame along with the other winners I’ve found at Walmart this year because they belong there. Very supportive, NOT see thru, and they even have a cute ribbed detail that I haven’t seen in any others I’ve tried this year. I did order up a size and I was glad I did – they fit perfectly! The $20 price tag is really nice too – come to mama.

OOTD 3: Lunch date w/ girlfriends

This black and white shirt is a little looser and I definitely could have sized down, especially for tucking it into bottoms like these linen pants. but it’s a great summer shirt with a tiny bit of a poof to the sleeve and a cute band at the bottom which definitely gives it more of a feminine feel.

These linen pants are really nice! They ran true to size. They’re true linen pants though, they wrinkle very easily. If that bugs you, I’d actually highly recommend this pair instead that I wore in this past post. Because not only do they seem to magically not wrinkle, they also have a dreamy-comfy elastic waistband. But if structure is your jam, you’ll like this white pair better.

This little jelly bag is SO CUTE. Very similar to the bogg bag trend going on esp on the East Coast right now. It’s more of a mini bag but perfect for wallet, keys, phone and lippy with room to spare – maybe a mini water bottle or a snack or two, because snacks are ALWAYS a good idea!! This item has been v popular this season, so all colors are currently sold out, but I’m hoping it comes back in stock — I promise we’ll keep an eye out!!

These birkenstock lookalikes – WOW. I cannot get over how comfy they are — like maybe even MORE comfy than actual birks?! And the price is unbelievable!!! For shoes that retail $160, I mean come on. $29.99?!? Insanity!!! I can’t say how the quality is since they’re brand new to me, other than immediate comfort, but dang for under $30 I’d say even if they just last this summer, that’s worth a shot!

OOTD 4: Family beach day

This black one piece is ultra flattering and how cute is that mini flutter sleeve?! It runs TTS so go ahead and order off the sizing chart with confidence! It also has adequate bum coverage for a mom who doesn’t wanna get cheeky! One more major plus: sewn-in cups! Someone was thinking when they designed this suit, yes please and thank you.

And then these flirty black pants are SO GOOD for an easy cover-up! They’re just under $20 and perfect for a pool day and even dressy enough for a resort or cruise ship, where you need to throw something on and eat lunch without having to get fully dressed. They DO open almost all the way when you sit down, which doesn’t bother me, but I wanted to give you fair warning in case that might bug you! I think they’re so cute and fun and on top of the flutter sleeve black one piece it almost looks like a regular outfit.

This little $9 black straw floppy hat is such a great summer staple! She’ll go with you to the beach, the pool or even a sunny park date.

These terry cloth flip flops are so good I got them in black AND white! They’re so comfy and will have a permanent spot next to the front door for me all summer long as a go-to shoe.

OOTD 5: Casual summer date

Can we just  talk about how HARD IT IS to find a perfect crisp, white shirt to go with everything?! It’s even HARDER to find one that has the perfect square neck. Not too ridiculously wide, and not too low. This one is juuuuust right and looks so cute with bermuda shorts, or jeans, or a skirt, or under a cute jumper – so many possibilities!! I paired this perfect square-neck blouse with one of my bermuda besties from our recent post, and a white straw hat that’s giving me coastal cowgirl vibes. But really, I just like her because she covers up my hair and gives me a cute excuse to skip yet another hair wash day!

These little sandals are screaming summer chic! They’re cute, casual, comfy but dressy at the same time. Throw these on to instantly elevate any casual outfit for a lunch date or even with a summer dress!

OOTD, but make it real life

Feeling put together doesn't have to be a monumental task, the trick is having the right basics in your closet that work for whatever your everyday looks like! So if you always have your eyes peeled for the perfect “brb I'm chasing littles down the beach-approved” swimsuit, or if you live in biker shorts all summer long (same!), or you just want an everyday mom outfit that you feel absolutely bomb in – you can't go wrong with any of these Walmart outfit options. And the best part is that none of these looks will break the bank!
