Layering like a pro: Summer to fall wardrobe tips from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

You know that awkward moment when it's not the middle of summer so you can't really live in a swimsuit cover up but it's not quite time to pull out the fall sweaters and pumpkin spice? It can be so tough to plan an outfit that revolves around mother nature's mood swings this time of year!  Which is where my tired and true love for layering comes in handy.  And the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has so many fun and cute hacks to keeping you comfy and cute all day long.

the perfect tee

This layering tee is the perfect foundation for your summer to fall look. I love that it's light enough so you aren't sweating when the sun comes out (uhhh no thank you) but most importantly, it's super soft and pretty much like wearing a cozy jammie top around.  I mean, who can say no to that? Not me!  And this tee is on sale for $31.90 right now at the Anniversary Sale!

Blazer beauty

This draped blazer is one of my favorite finds from this year's sale and apparently I wasn't the only one because it just sold out!  I'm so bummed.  Luckily, there are some great alternates!  Like this texture blazer that I think would be so perfect with the layering tee or even this floral blouse from my summer to fall look I posted earlier this week.  You could totally achieve this same layering look with this affordable cardigan that's still in stock in several colors!!

Must-have jeans

I have to admit, I may not keep up with the Kardashians, but I can keep up with Khloe and these jeans! Girlfriend totally knew what she was doing when she designed them!  I gave these jeans four stars in my Anniversary Sale jean guide and even a few weeks later I'm sticking by my rating!  You know those jeans that can be stiff and tug and pull when you sit down? Nope, not these! These jeans are not only super flattering, but the fabric is stretchy and comfy to move around in. I'm totally obsessed with the front hem detail and the high waist is total perfection. And they're on sale right now for $123.90!

Tan Heels

I talked about these shoes in my ruffle guide yesterday, but let me just reiterate how truly in love I've fallen with them!  I feel like one of my biggest frustrations with shoes is when you want to wear a super cute pair for the day, but you know you'll be walking a lot.  You don't want to pull out your flats, but you also know that wearing heels is about as practical as a parka in June. Are you with me? But the cushioned footbed and block heel make these shoes my new faves. They're seriously SOOOOOOO comfy. And so cute I get stopped and complimented every time I wear them out.  And they're under $100 during the Anniversary Sale!

Tote-ally amazing

On days where I'm on the go and super busy, sometimes I feel like I have so many things to bring around with me I practically need to pack a carryon haha! This tote is big enough for all your essentials and snacks (don't ever forget the snacks!), but actually adds a cute versatility to any daytime or evening look.  I'm so bummed the blush is sold out, but the black is still in stock and I think it works great as such a basic color to have on hand for Fall.  And did I mention it's less than $50 during the sale? Because it totally is!

Staple Sunglasses

These sunglasses are back, alright!  I hope you sang along to that sentence in your head like it was a Backstreet Boys song. I also hope you don't mind me expressing my devotion to these sunnies two days in a row.
