Bathroom renovations: 4 small changes make a HUGE impact

You know that you’re well into your adult years when you get excited about BATHROOM RENOVATIONS. Am I right?! The powder bathroom in our home has been something we’ve put off doing anything to for years, and we finally decided it was time to dress it up. I have to say, it’s been SO fun to see it completely transformed. I dug deep for the Joanna in me with this project, and I seriously couldn’t be happier with the results! Step one: wallpaper

I think the number one thing that can completely change a bathroom is cute wallpaper! Once I found a wallpaper I liked, I knew I could base the rest of my renovations around it. Adding wallpaper to a bathroom makes a huge difference, and sets the tone for the rest of the bathroom’s vibes! (Admit it, you know bathroom vibes are TOTALLY a thing.)

We got this ultra pretty print from The Home Depot (on sale today!) and it has made such. an. impact. It’s actually the Scott Living brand, which is the brand created by the Property Brothers, Jonathan & Drew. (Give me allllll the home reno shows puh-lease).

I was so impressed with it, and absolutely loved the look! It fit our home-style so well because it lends to the modern beachy vibe we’ve based our decor and other home renovations around.

Step two: pendant lights

After deciding on the wallpaper, I thought these cute, nautical-style pendant lights were the perfect addition because they created even more of a beachy vibe, without totally being The Little Mermaid’s powder room! (Although my girls probably would have loved that!)

They really support that modern, Southern California house style I’m going for, and I love, love, love them. Not to mention they ONLY have five-star ratings, and they’re on sale!

Step three: mirror

I’m SO obsessed with this new black accent mirror! It’s a lot bigger than the makeshift one we had in here before. An accent mirror is such a huge statement piece in a powder bathroom like this – other than the wallpaper, I would say this addition made the next biggest impact!

Step four: black accents

Once we found the black mirror that I LOVED, I knew we would want to add some black accents to match! We changed out all the hardware to make everything black, and even added this really sweet floating shelf that I’m obsessed with.

The shelf is decorative, but also functional. You store things on it, but you make it pretty. Genius! I added some towels and decor to mine, as well as one of our favorite photos from the beach. I absolutely love how it turned out! I had a ton of fun styling this, and I think it adds so much to the bathroom’s overall look.

Small changes, HUGE difference!

You don’t always have to completely tear down everything to see a room do a complete 180. The small changes we did to our powder bathroom completely transformed it in every way, and I am SO happy with the results! These simple bathroom renovations seriously changed everything.
