Quick Version: Western is totally IN this fall. My exact outfit: the softest fringe jacket, Good American bootcut jeans, Tecovas The Annie boots, a fun Western belt, an East-West bag (similar here), a fitted white long-sleeve tee (similar here) and a cowboy hat to top it all off.

If you've been seeing fringe, cowboy boots and big belt buckles everywhere lately, you're not imagining it. It is totally in this fall to dress Western!!
You don't need a ranch to pull it off, either. Here's the exact outfit I put together, piece by piece.
The fringe jacket
Of all the fringe jackets I've tried on, THIS one is my favorite. It's super soft. It's not too heavy.
So if you're in a transitional place like I am, where you kind of feel like you need three outfits a day, this is great because it's a lighter jacket. It's not so heavy that you're sweating if you're wearing it.
My favorite fringe jacket: EDIKTED Evonka Fringe Faux Suede Jacket
A similar fitted white tee: Nordstrom Ribbed Crewneck Long Sleeve T-Shirt

More fringe jackets to shop:
- KITTENISH Fringe Detail Faux Suede Jacket, $89.70 (the budget pick)
- Karen Kane Fringe Long Sleeve Jacket, $148
- NASTY GAL Real Suede Fringe Jacket, $480 to $600 (the real suede splurge)

Side note: I used my Dyson Airwrap to curl my hair. And my favorite mousse is the Drybar Southern Belle Volume-Boosting Mousse (the yellow bottle!).
The perfect bootcut jeans
I actually wore this outfit to my birthday lunch today, and the topic of perfect jeans came up with my girlfriends. The very first brand I mentioned was Good American.
Good American makes jeans that fit a woman's body SO well, but they're not outrageously priced. You're still getting designer jeans for under $200, and these ones totally fit the bill.
They are perfectly made for wearing with cowboy boots.
The bootcut jeans: Good American Soft-Tech Good Classic Bootcut Jeans

More Good American bootcuts:
- Good American Good Classic Bootcut Jeans, $138
- Good American Good Classic Never Fade Slim Bootcut Jeans in black, $148
- Good American Good Petite High Waist Bootcut Jeans, $168 (for my petite girls)
The cowboy boots
Tecovas got its start in Austin, and that's actually where I tried these on! I went into their shop in Austin and interviewed one of the sales associates about all the different styles Tecovas makes.
They said this particular style, The Annie, is the MOST popular of anything they make. It's a taller boot but not too tall, so you can wear it under jeans, but it also looks great with skirts or dresses. It's just super versatile.
And they are SO comfortable. Like, no break-in time required!!
These are actual, legit leather cowboy boots. The type that's an investment piece you'll wear forever and ever.
The boots: Tecovas The Annie Western Boot

More Tecovas styles:
- Tecovas Tess Leather Western Boot, $295
- Tecovas The Sadie Western Boot, $345
- Tecovas The Jolene Western Boot, $395
The belt and the bag
I added a fun little Western belt that was pretty affordable. It's an easy way to make any jeans-and-tee outfit feel a little more Western.
The belt: Treasure & Bond Lainey Western Buckle Leather Belt
More Western belts:
- Treasure & Bond Aria Concho Leather Belt, $30.99 to $51.75
- Belle & Bloom Melrose Western Belt, $69.95
- Madewell Oval Buckle Suede Belt, $88

Then an East-West bag. East-West bags are SO big right now! Mine is by JW PEI. I bought it at Nordstrom earlier this fall but I'm linking some other East-West bags and JW PEI options below.
A similar East-West bag: Reformation Sofia East/West Shoulder Bag
More East-West bags:
- Dolce Vita Savii Snakeskin Embossed Faux Leather Shoulder Bag, $118.50

- JW PEI Harlee Faux Leather Shoulder Bag, $99
- JW PEI Aveline Faux Leather Shoulder Bag, $149

The cowboy hat
The most fun find of all of these things was this cowboy hat. It's just a really fun way to top off the whole outfit.
I didn't actually take it to lunch with me because it felt a little out of place for where we were going. But if I were going country dancing, or somewhere where it would complete the outfit, I would have worn it, and I will DEFINITELY be wearing this hat in the future.
The cowboy hat: Brixton Laredo Straw Cowboy Hat

More cowboy hats:
- Tasha Western Cowboy Hat with Concho Leather Band, $58
