I research fashion trends like some people research true crime. I'm reading articles, watching reels, looking at what every big brand is releasing, and I've got all the info you need without spending the time. But wait, THERE'S MORE. I found all of these fashion trends ON SALE at Nordstrom right now. So if you're ready to refresh a few things in your wardrobe to be on-point in fall '26, I've got you.
1. The barn jacket
The barn jacket is the smartest fashion trend I've seen in a LONG time.
Anyone watch the 80s Nancy Meyers movie Baby Boom? That's what the barn jacket makes me think of. Think Diane Keaton trying to become a farm mom while milking her cows and selling homemade applesauce.
It will go with and over any and everything, I promise.
You can spot a barn coat usually by its differing collar that's oftentimes corduroy, and usually a different color too. A lot of times it's a canvas, a cotton or a waxed-canvas.
One HUGE bummer though, is that when I found this it WAS on sale, but now it's not. However, there are a bunch that are from the same brand or super similar that ARE on sale! I also own and totally love this one that's crazy affordable.
The barn jackets that ARE on sale
Since mine isn't marked down, I went back through the sale and pulled every barn jacket that is. I haven't worn these ones myself, so these fit notes are Nordstrom's and not mine.
The one closest to mine: this BP. Cotton Canvas Barn Jacket is $67.12 (was $89.50) and it's SO close to my Levi's it's almost funny. Corduroy collar, utility pockets, boxy and slightly cropped. Less than half the price. True to size.
If you need actual warmth: the Levi's Quilted Barn Jacket is $79.99 (was $120). Same brand as mine but quilted and insulated. True to size.
The best deal in this entire post: the BCBG Corduroy Collar Cotton Barn Jacket is $99.99, down from $268. I did a double take. Heavy washed cotton so it already looks broken in. True to size.
The traditional one: the Lauren Ralph Lauren Waxed Barn Jacket is $179.99 (was $270). Waxed cotton is the OG version and it'll actually shed rain.
The splurge: the Avec Les Filles Suede Barn Coat is $279.99 (was $418) and it hits two trends at once, the barn shape AND suede. Runs slightly large. ALSO fun fact! Did you know Avec Les Filles is allegedly made in the same place as Chanel jackets?!
2. Brown denim
The brown denim is so soft and comfy you'll wonder if they're sweatpants.
That's the whole review. These are the PAIGE Anessa High Waist Wide Leg Jeans in Vintage Champagne Stone, and they're the pair I keep putting right back on. Brown as a neutral is everywhere this fall and this is the wash that makes it work.
They're $149.40, down from $249. That's 40% off PAIGE denim, which basically never happens. True to size.
3. The flare jeans, and the boots to wear with them
The other actual denim looking jeans are practically tailor-made for boots.
Those are the PAIGE Sofia Flare Jeans in Dance Door. The flare is exactly the right shape to sit over a bootie instead of bunching up on top of it.
They're $161.40, down from $269. Also 40% off.
And the boots are such an amazing fall staple. And genuine leather for $100 is insane!
These are the Nordstrom Tina Bootie in black. Leather upper, a 1.5 inch stacked heel, 6 inch shaft, side zip so you're not fighting to get them on.
They're $101.98, down from $169.95. True to size.
4. Stripes
The stripe tee is mentally an exact throwback for me to my 7th grade first day of school photo. 90s vibes strong.
Mine is the rag & bone The Slub Stripe T-Shirt in Red Burgundy Multi. It's $75.90 to $103.50 depending on color and size, down from $138. True to size.
If you want the look for way less: this BP. Stretch Cotton Blend Baby Tee in the Red Pink Alicia Stripe is $12.50 to $25 (down from $25) and gives you the same striped moment. Nordstrom says it runs slightly small, so size up if you want it less cropped.
The striped henley
This stripe henley is a total trend rn too.
The Free People Lake Stripe Rib Henley in Chocolate Combo is thick ribbed knit that actually holds its shape, with a half button placket and a stand collar so it's not just a plain long sleeve.
It's $40.80 to $46.80, down from $68 to $78. 40% off! Nordstrom says it runs slightly small.
5. The low profile sneaker
The low profile sneaker is the most popular sneaker trend among European women right now, and that trend is quickly spreading in the States too.
Mine are the Vince LA Runner Sneaker in Moonlight/Elmwood, which is a Nordstrom exclusive. Slim, retro, flat soled, and you can wear them with the wide leg jeans without your feet disappearing under the hem.
They start at $178.75, down from $250.
The other one to look at: the Vince Oasis Runner Sneaker starts at $123.74, down from $275. Not every color is marked down on that one, so click through a few before you pick.
6. The pink raincoat
Okay this one I'll be honest about: it was just so cute. And really expensive.
I live in Orange County. I don't really need a raincoat. I bought it anyway because the Damson Madder Liu Raincoat in pink is so fun, and statement outerwear in an unexpected color is very much a fall 2026 thing. If you live somewhere with real weather, this is the one that'll make you a little glad it's raining.
It's $210, down from $280. True to size.
How I'm wearing all of it
The everyday one: striped tee, brown denim, the runners, barn jacket over the top. School pickup, errands, lunch, all of it.
The put together one: chocolate henley tucked into the brown denim, barn jacket.
The one with boots: flare jeans, the Tina booties, striped tee, barn jacket. This is the combination I'll be living in once it actually cools off.
The rainy one: literally anything underneath, pink raincoat over it.
