cute outfits for the 50-something gal + $250 gift card giveaway

cute outfits for the 50-something gal!

This week my darling mom (who also happens to be a food blogger!) is in town so a few days ago we hit the mall and did some serious shopping! It's funny being an adult and a mom myself now. I'm beginning to realize that all those trips we used to take to the mall growing up were focused on me and never her, and she'd buy things for me and never herself. So putting the focus back on her and not me was such a treat!

We wanted to find some cute, flattering, age-appropriate outfits that she could wear on her TV appearances when she cooks on my hometown local daytime TV show, or out to a girlfriend's lunch, or on a little date with my dad! Here's what we found:

How cute is this coral top with a gray cardi? We loved that it was a higher neckline without being too high (nobody wants to feel like their shirt is choking them!) and the gray cardigan doesn't compete with the pattern.

We did kind of the same thing with this outfit but with a green tank and a navy cardigan! I love this color combo. And my mom also loved that these tops go over her bum – a prerequisite for her to feel comfortable when wearing with skinny jeans!

This button-up shirt was one of my favorite things my mom tried on, nice and light and summery! She wore it last night to a cooking class we attended and she looked so cute in it!

I saved my very favorite for last – this coral knit sweater! The texture is so pretty and way cuter on a person than on the hanger (you know those shirts!) and it comes in a darling mint color too.

In all the photos she was wearing these legging ankle jeans and these foldable flats. The shoes were borrowed from my closet (ha) but we both own those jeans and LOVE them.

Thanks mama for being a good sport and letting me take pictures of all your outfits!

  1. I didn’t know she was your mom!!! I love following you both on IG! Such a small world! I hope my mom and I win the shopping spree! ??????

  2. This totally made me tear up! Our mom always did the same for my 4 siblings & I growing up…even as we got older. She passed away a couple of months before I gave birth to my first child, so remembering moments like that are especially bittersweet <3

  3. Fingers crossed!

I’ve been a fan for awhile now and I’ve been wanting to tell you, ever since I watched your scope on thinking positively towards my insta account it’s been growing leap and Bounds. It REALLY does work. Thanks so much!?
Much love from St. George, Utah!
