aden + anais $10 per swaddle + some 2nd baby thoughts . . .

so today i go to my OB for a 24 week checkup and i have to admit that i've been feeling a lot of mom guilt lately for this little second baby! i often forget that i'm even pregnant (seriously, how does that happen?) because life is so busy right now. when people ask me how far along i am i literally have to stop and think about it before i can answer. with ani, i knew exactly how far along i was on the day. i woke up every single morning and looked at my pregnancy app and then searched for baby deals (i did what i do, before i started doing what i do if you know what i mean!). i was SO wrapped up and consumed by every tiny detail when i was pregnant with anabelle and had purchased a crib, 2 strollers, a high chair, half a wardrobe and i can't even remember what else at this point in my first pregnancy. this time? i have literally only bought this baby one outfit. ONE. and that's it.

my friends at aden + anais did send me these beautiful organic swaddles, truly one of my absolute favorite MUST-HAVE baby items. so those are making me feel a little better. they are not on sale right now but you can purchase the aden+anais PRODUCT(RED) special edition organic designer swaddles here. these were designed in collaboration with jessica alba, rachel zoe and gwen stefani and 100% of the proceeds from these special edition swaddles go toward the global fund to help fight AIDS. each purchase can provide over a month of lifesaving medicine to help prevent a mother living with HIV from passing the virus to her baby. pretty cool!

aden + anais bamboo swaddles RED designer edition

anyway, thanks for listening to my rambling. this morning as i was researching baby deals i found some super low prices on our favorite a+a swaddles, thanks to a tip from one of my readers kathryn (thanks friend!)

the following swaddles are on sale for about $10 per swaddle (when you buy them in the 4 pack):

right now you can get the aden + anais Classic Muslin Swaddle Blanket 4 Pack in Liam The Brave for $40.30

the Aden + Anais Classic Muslin Swaddle Blanket 4 Pack in Jungle Jam for $40.34

the aden + anais Classic Muslin Swaddle Blanket 4 Pack in Dreamer for $40.31

and the Aden + Anais Classic Muslin Swaddle Blanket 4 Pack in For The Birds for $41.36

there are two prints on major sale too in the super soft bamboo swaddles that we love so much for about $12 per swaddle (normally $15).

right now you can get the aden + anais Rayon from Bamboo Swaddle Blanket 3 Pack in Mela for $36.33

or the Aden + Anais Swaddle Blanket, Bamboo Rayon, 3 count in Azure for $35.31.

because i know i'll get this question (!!!) the difference between the two is the bamboo are super soft right out of the package, where the classic swaddles get softer with each wash. the classic are a bit more stiff muslin which is actually nice sometimes! the bamboo tend to be SO soft that once the babies are old enough to wiggle out of a swaddle they can more easily in the bamboo. that said, we loved both SO much and if you can afford both i highly suggest trying both! you'll probably love them for different purposes and circumstances. when we went boating in the summer i took a classic swaddle for a blankie or covering up. they were much more breathable than the bamboo. but i LOVED the ultra super softness of the bamboo and they seemed a tiny bit warmer for winter months. choosing which i love more would be like asking someone to choose a favorite child. i just can't. ha.

also, how many do you need? well i remember a girlfriend telling me we would heavily use and need about 16 and i thought she was nuts. well, we ended up with like 30. (wow did i just say that out loud?!) but you know what? we used them all SO MUCH. you will be glad if you have tons to rotate through because babies spit up and have blow outs and are constantly needing outfit and bedding changes and you'll grab one of these every time you head out the door. which leads me to all their uses!

you can use these babies (the swaddles not THE baby) as a swaddle (duh) but also a burp cloth, makeshift nursing cover, car seat canopy, clean surface when you're out to lay the baby on for a diaper change, and probably 10 other things i'm not thinking of right now with my pregnancy brain.

that's probably enough rambling for one day! but if you want to see my other baby swear-by must-have favorite products, go to my best baby registry list ever.

Never Miss a Deal
Hi, I’m Corrine and it’s pretty simple. I think you deserve to buy the things you want at a price you can afford. Here you can find the best deals and steals on high end fashion, as well as beauty and wellness tutorials.

  1. Thanks for this post! I bought a few 4-packs. I’m going through the exact same thing right now with my second pregnancy – I’m 29 weeks and this poor baby boy only has some pajamas and now swaddle blankets (thank you!)… and lots of pink hand-me-downs from his 2-year-old sister. Yikes!

  2. Thank you for this post. I just purchased both the bamboo and classic. I have found your “best baby registry list ever” as well as all of your baby deals/savings post so very helpful. I know last week I commented with a different request, and I am not sure if you have read that one. But, now I was wondering if you could do a post about how many of each items (bottles, swaddles, onesies, etc.) you would recommend. I can’t believe you said you have used 30 swaddle blankets! Ok, well I guess I now have 7, but I have a ways to go. Fortunately, I am only 17 weeks pregnant so have some time!

    1. hi michelyn! i totally missed your comment last week, i’m so sorry! i for sure could do a post on recommended amounts for all of those things, although it is a bit difficult to say because if you’re a breastfeeding mama you’ll use far fewer bottles than a mom who pumps and bottle feeds often or one who exclusively formula/bottle feeds. but i will for sure keep this in mind and try to put together a post like this sometime soon! thanks for the idea. and congrats on your pregnancy!!

      1. Thanks, I’d appreciate it. Even if you just do one or the other that would be beneficial. I plan to breastfeed, and am not certain of your history, so would lean towards that one (i.e., breastfeeding mother). However, whatever your experiences are would be great!

  3. Corrine, I most definitely empathize with the baby #2, I can’t even remember I’m preggo feeling! I told my dear hubby the other day and he was so confused by the fact that I don’t “Feel” preggers. Well, I am 13 weeks pregnant, and just started my Amazon registry, thanks to finding you on Pinterest, so THANKS!!! I feel a little better as a mom. :)))
