Dining room reveal!

Dining-17

One of the best (and hardest!) parts of moving into a new home is deciding how you want each room to look! I honestly went back and forth with this room – do we want a formal dining room? Should I just turn this into an office? Maybe I'll stick a grand piano in there (ha!) but ultimately, this is what we decided to do.

Dining-8

Our eat-in kitchen table is pretty small and we love having guests over for dinner, so a formal dining room was the final decision. BUT I didn't want it to feel super formal and stuffy, I wanted it to be inviting and happy and casual enough that anyone could walk right in and feel at home. Yes, even our littlest friends.

My super talented friend Jen from House Collected came up with the concept for this room and I am so happy with everything she helped me find! She just gets me. And I've wasted WAY less money buying stuff that I don't like and either have to waste even more time returning or figuring out what to do with because I can't return it. She is amazing and really affordable if you need e-design help!

Obviously with these upholstered chairs we were taking a bit of a risk with them getting dirty, but we only let adults sit on those and so far they've held up beautifully! My favorite part of this room I think are the painted white chairs. They are even prettier in person and EVERYONE who comes over compliments us on them. Well I mean almost everyone. Maybe not the 21 year olds selling pest control but you know what I mean. 🙂

I absolutely love the feel of this beachy artwork. It makes the room feel really calm and relaxed and happy.

These vases are no longer available (so sorry!!) but I found some similar ones I love for under $20 here and here. And the flowers are in a good old mason jar 😉

The vase I used for my roses is sadly sold out and I searched for a couple hours (literally) with absolutely no dupes, but I did find this one that's sort of similar and really pretty AND under $30!
