when i woke up to find out about the kate spade fall collection being marked down 20% off today, i knew it was the perfect opportunity to talk about my dream experience with them last week at new york fashion week!
i hesitated a little about writing all about my kate spade new york experience on my blog, mostly because i don’t ever want to come off as “hey guys look at ME i’m so awesome” to a mom who may be at home with 4 kids and only have $50 to spend on herself, or a college girl who’s eating spaghettios and reading my blog and feeling like i’m completely out of touch with reality. before the day of this event i had never, ever dressed designer head-to-toe. i’m more of a “wear one designer item and the rest is from target” kinda girl, but at the same time, this experience was something i wanted to document, not only for myself, but because i wanted to give a proper thanks to a brand that has been more than extremely generous with me.
kate spade’s mantra is “she is quick and curious and playful and strong,” and i couldn’t resonate more with a message. their iconically classic stripes and polka dots and girly bows and beautiful colors just get me, every time! aside from all this, they are the most generous, kind and giving people of any brand i’ve worked with. so, not only do i love their bags and shoes and clothes and everything they produce, i just love THEM.
i was honestly on the fence about traveling to new york fashion week, but when the kate spade team reached out to me with an invitation to attend their show, i knew i had to go. the icing on the cake was a private appointment at their flagship madison avenue store to be dressed to the nines to attend their spring preview show!
i kind of felt like i was in a dream, or like i was a little girl watching a movie. i kept saying to myself, “is this real? things like this don’t happen to me!” i was whisked up to the top floor of their madison avenue store to a private room where all of their brand new fall items were displayed for me to try on, in exactly my sizes. my only regret is that i didn’t have more time to really soak in the experience and take more pictures! i was pretty rushed since i got there at 10 and the show started at 11, but incredibly grateful nonetheless for the opportunity.
i paired the lee bow skirt with this bekki sweater, these red laylee heels and omni park chloe finn clutch! i can’t wait to wear this again in the fall or winter with maybe an audrey hepburn bun and pretty stud earrings.
if you love any of these and want to grab something for your fall wardrobe, today through sunday you can get 20% off anything in the kate spade fall collection with the code FALLWD14 at checkout.
i kind of didn’t want to leave their madison avenue store because i didn’t want this experience to ever end! but i wanted to be on time to the spring preview show so i hustled out and grabbed an uber and ran to the show.
the kate spade preview show was incredible – they had REAL grass laid out to set a perfectly springy stage. i wanted to take it all home with me. bright, colorful, white, crisp, clean, playful, girly, perfection.
one last pinch me moment – being photographed by kate spade’s official photographers along side julia from gal meets glam, chassity evans of look linger love, and carly heitlinger of the college prepster.
thank you kate spade for the experience of a lifetime!
