guest post: holiday lip looks by vivian makeup artist!

i’m thrilled to bring you guys a fun little treat that’s a little different than my norm, but totally applicable because we mixed up these holiday lip looks with some SALE info!

my incredibly talented friend and makeup artist vivian is guest posting for me on this one. and i have to say that i was SO nervous when she wanted to do red lips on me, but they’re at last on the list because we saved the best for last! they were my very favorite of the 4 looks.

if you already have a fantastic outfit for a holiday party, but you want to try something new, lips might be just the trick for you!

thanks viv for these super fun tips, and thanks to jordi from jordan carli photography for the beautiful photos!

Lip color is the fastest way to make yourself look fancy and I love using the holidays as an excuse to dress up my makeup!  Here are four of my favorite holiday lip looks:

A holiday twist to your classic ‘nude’ lip (plus, the sparkle makes it stay!)
Start with a gloss, I used Lancome La Laque Fever in O So Coral (10% off through Wednesday the 18th)!  Then tap a sparkly glitter onto the outer corners of your lips. I used MAC Gold. Then in the center of your lips apply a sparkly gold toned eyeshadow.  I used Eternal Gold by Lancome. From far away this just looks like a pretty neutral lip, but up close it’s sparkly heaven!

To make your lip color stay twice as long tap a little bit of eyeshadow over the top to set it. Using a lighter color in the middle can make your lips appear more full. Here I used Rougelle lip liner, La Laque Fever gloss in Scarlette and Eternal Gold from Lancome. Free gift with purchase if you order these Lancome products from Macy’s.  By the way, this looks even more incredible in person!

A neutral lip never gets old plus it’s fast and easy. I used Lancome Gloss in Love in Mocha Queen (on sale!). Simple and timeless and can be paired with a dramatic or clean look on the eyes.

Make yourself look super glam in 2 minutes with these fabulous ruby slipper lips! I used Rougelle lip liner then applied La Laque Fever Gloss in Scarlette. Then I applied MAC Glitter in Red directly on top of the gloss. For added smoothness and shine I topped it off with Crystal lip gloss from Bobbi Brown *suggestion: apply glitter away from all of your other makeup so you don’t end up with little sparkly friends mixed in with everything you own Also dust of any excess glitter that may end up on your face using a powder brush and a liberal amount of a silky smooth face powder like Laura Mercier’s Invisible Loose Setting Powder (on sale!).

thanks again vivian for your incredible tips on fun holiday lips! this is the type of thing i could never think up with my own wits, but viv shows that they’re really so easy and doable. if you try one of these looks, make sure you post and tag us on instagram so we can see your pretty lips!
